A decade's pressing demand of the trans G.T. road part of Kanpur city, known as Kidwai Nagar, had been for a good English Medium Institution in that area. Responding to their urge and desire, Mrs. Sophie Shukla, through the aegis of Huddard Junior High School Society, which exists primarily for the education of Christian children, but allows its institutions to admit children irrespective of caste and creed, established this School in the memory of her worthy sister, Ms. Mercy Roberts, in `Y' Block, Kidwal Nagar, in the year 1983.
